Your data & security
Your receipts are yours. We never sell your data, never use it for advertising, and you can delete everything at any time.
Where your data is stored
- Hey Proofy is run from New Zealand.
- Your account, receipt details and receipt images are stored on secure cloud servers in the United States, through our platform provider Base44.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- We protect your information to the standard required by the NZ Privacy Act 2020, including when it is stored overseas.
How we protect it
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
- Our hosting provider is independently audited (SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified).
- Only you can see your receipts. Each account can only access its own data.
- Our team does not look at your receipts unless you ask us to, for support.
How we use AI
- AI reads your receipts to fill in details like store, date, price and warranty period.
- It is used only to provide Hey Proofy features to you, such as reminders and recall alerts.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data.
- We don't share your receipts with retailers or advertisers.
- We don't access your email inbox or bank accounts.
Your control
- Download your receipts and images at any time from Settings.
- Delete any receipt at any time.
- Delete your account in Settings. Your receipts, images and account details are permanently removed and any subscription is cancelled.
- Ask us what data we hold about you at admin@heyproofy.com.

Is my data stored in NZ?

Can Hey Proofy staff see my receipts?
Only you can see your receipts. Our team does not look at them unless you ask us to, for support.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
Your receipts, warranties and reminders stay in your account. You just lose the paid features when your plan ends.
What happens if I delete my account?
Your receipts, images and account details are permanently removed, and any subscription is cancelled. This cannot be undone.
Is my data used to train AI?
We do not use your receipts to train AI models.
